In Unbridled Freedom, a young girl rides bareback on a powerful black horse, both of them caught mid-stride in a surge of motion that feels more like weather than simple movement. The tall canvas is split between fields of golden light and Atlantic blue, with the rider and horse carved out in layered blues and inky blacks. Across the animal’s body, rich gold spirals and patterning call back to Gaelic ornament and battle gear, wrapping the barrel and flanks like living armour. The girl’s figure, hair, and streaming ribbons of fabric seem to dissolve into the same wind that tears through the horse’s mane, so that rider and mount read as one continuous, restless form.
