In Solar Grove, a column of slender white trunks rises through a field of crackled gold, amber, and ember-red. Each crown opens into a circular mosaic of tessellated warm tones, like small suns held aloft on fine, branching stems. The surface is alive with fracture lines and micro-details, so that what first reads as a simple rhythm of tree forms quickly resolves into something more intricate – a bright, abstracted grove caught in the heat and dazzle of late afternoon light.
The composition is deliberately spare: no horizon, no sky, just verticals and circles holding the eye in an upward pull. The cool, stone-like whites of the trunks and halos cut cleanly against the warm field, giving the piece a crisp, architectural feel that keeps all that colour from becoming overpowering. Up close, tiny networks of cracks and cells reward slow looking; from across the room, the work reads as a confident band of sunlit colour that lifts the mood of the space without needing any narrative explanation.
