In Liminal Twilight, a band of trees stands between worlds. Above the waterline, their trunks rise into a sky of swirling creams, golds, and ember-reds, encircling a low sun that burns like a painted halo. Below, their roots stretch into a mirrored landscape where the same colours soften into misted greys, mauves, and muted greens. The horizon sits almost exactly at the centre, so the reflection reads less like a simple mirror and more like a quiet threshold in the day; a pause in which the land, light, and water seem unusually attentive and alive.
The dark tree forms act as guardians of that threshold. Their silhouettes are strong and graphic, but inside the negative spaces the paint moves slowly, like currents of air and water. The sun itself is rendered in concentric rings of warm colour, neither harsh nor sentimental, suggesting a presence that is constant on both sides of the divide.
