In Imperceptible Journey, a chain of deep blue spheres steps across a wide band of molten yellow, like snapshots of the same world taken at different moments in its passage through space. On the far left, a dark quadrant of star-flecked black holds the first great planet and a small, sun-hot disc of orange; from there the eye moves right along the line of worlds, past tiny black moons and ember-bright satellites, until it reaches the largest orbs on the far side of the canvas. A fine turquoise grid lies over everything, crossed by looping arcs that trace invisible paths of spin, tilt, and orbit. Along the bottom edge, a strip of hotter orange and red reads as a time-line or band of solar fire carrying the whole procession forward.
The title points to the quiet fact that we live on a planet in constant, complex motion yet feel none of it. Here that unseen journey is laid out like a diagram and a hymn at once: Earth turning on its axis, circling the sun, swept through the Galaxy, all within a universe held together by laws we did not write. The repeating spheres and subtle changes of scale hint at cycles within cycles—days, years, ages—while the glowing yellow field suggests the sustaining light of God through which this motion takes place. It’s an abstract cosmology that invites the viewer to consider both physics and providence: the precision of orbital mechanics and the mystery of why there is a path at all.
Stylistically the piece sits between geometric abstraction and painterly celestial map. The circles are bold and crisp, but their interiors are marbled with layered blues and teals that feel poured and worked like oil paint. The yellow ground breaks into clouds, fractures, and flecks of colour, recalling expressive modern painting, while the grid and arcs impose a quiet order over the surface. From across the room it reads as a clean, graphic sequence of planets; up close, the surface resolves into intricate textures, colour veining, and small incidents of splatter that reward slow looking.
With its long, panoramic format, this canvas is designed as a horizontal statement piece. It works beautifully over a sofa, above a sideboard, along a dining room wall, or in a study or home office where science, faith, and curiosity sit side by side. In family spaces it becomes a visual prompt for questions about space and time; in more contemplative rooms it settles into a steady reminder that our lives unfold inside a much larger, carefully ordered journey.
