In Bird Call, a forest opens in layered greens and dark vertical trunks, like a sanctuary built from living columns. Across the field, fine linework and faint rectangular marks drift like a quiet grid, part map and part memory. At the centre, a rising column of gold light gathers into a small starburst, with warm ember reds holding the left and right edges like late-season leaves. Below the light, a lone bird spreads its wings in silhouette, suspended between shadowed understory and the bright path above.
This work is about the moment creation answers back. The bird is small, but it carries the whole piece, a single living note set against the vast stillness of the woods. The grid and measured lines suggest an unseen order that runs through everything, while the gold flecks read as sparks, pollen, or prayer. The light is not theatrical.
