A tall column of sea and sky fills the canvas of “Beacon in the Rings of Night”, with a single lighthouse standing at the horizon line like a held note of light. Above it, the night burns in layered oranges, embers, and deep indigo, spattered with star-like flecks. Fine concentric rings radiate outward from the lantern, circling through the sky as if the light itself were sending out pulses of strength and warning into the dark Atlantic air.
Below, the sea carries those rings downward, folding them into swells, cross-currents, and reflected glows. The water moves through greens, bronzes, and muted blues, broken by soft spray and disturbed by an almost vertical path of light that leads from the beacon to the foreground shore. At the base, a dark, textured rise of rock or shingle catches stray sparks of orange and gold, grounding the composition in a very physical coast – the kind of Norse-Gael shoreline where watchtowers and warning fires once guarded the sea roads.
Stylistically, this piece sits between contemporary abstraction and atmospheric realism. The lighthouse is rendered with enough clarity to feel real, while the rings, splatters, and drifting embers push the scene toward the symbolic: signal waves, prayer circles, or the unseen reach of grace radiating through the night.
